Two Years Old

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY, IAINE!

What: Iaine's 2nd Birthday Celebration
Where: Jollibee Rizal Ave
When: February 5
Theme: BARBIE

Her birthday party, which was celebrated a day early because Feb 6 fell on a Monday, went so well that I'm now under the pressure of keeping up with that standard each year! To see how her 1st birthday went, click here.

So anyway, everything went better than I expected and I didn't even have to worry about a single thing except for the minor "Filipino time" glitch. This post can also serve as a review for Jollibee Rizal Ave., Batangas City branch cos they earned 5 out of 5 stars from us.

Boom! Time for a photo blog..... after the jump!

My work. A few days before the party I needed to come up with a tarpaulin layout, get it printed, and go shopping for our birthday event outfits.
 ---

30 pieces of cupcake/Barbie invitations. These were a part of the party package and they are just adorable! Last year I made the invitations by hand myself and although I was proud of my work, it was really exhausting. This time I was relieved that all I had to do was fill these up and distribute them. I knew I didn't need to make my own set of invitations because these were very pretty and presentable enough!
---
Party outfit 1: Barbie Girl. pink feather headband, Barbie shirt, Barbie glittered/printed tulle skirt, pink stockings, and Barbie shoes
---
Party outfit 2: Ballerina Inspired. pearl embellished blouse, flower/blow tulle skirt, pink stockings, Hello Kitty ballet flats
---
Barbie chocolate birthday cake and cupcake set from Red Ribbon bakeshop c/o Jollibee. This cake was the small size and it's a shame I didn't get it in large. It was so delish! The cupcakes were the same texture and consistency as the cake--creamy, moist, and just the right amount of sweetness. But the advantage of this smaller cake is that it comes with six Barbie cupcakes, perfect for the cupcake/Barbie thing going on (remember the invitations?).
---

Party area. Fully air-conditioned and can accommodate 200 people.
---
Barbie loot bags and goodies for the girls and Jollitown loot bags and goodies for the boys (not shown) I made some last minute thank you cards to stick on the outside of the bag but because I didn't have any double adhesive tape I just slipped one card into each of these bags.
---
Tables. Each group of tables had 2-3 Barbie paper placemats and 2-3 Barbie party/name hats.
---
The birthday girl. One day shy of turning two, this little lady enjoyed her party so much and my husband and I couldn't be happier.
---
2 mascots for our daughter's big day. They were lively, funny, friendly, and awesome.  I know it's in their job description, but I gotta hand it to them, they were great. Cos unlike in other Jollibee branches where mascots would run off after a quick photo opportunity, these guys hung around til the party was over. They made us and our guests happy, especially the kids. They couldn't get enough of these cheerful characters!
---
Candle-blowing. Iaine learned how to do this on her own, because after we'd randomly sing the happy birthday song, she's end it with "Blow! Blow!" and blow out an invisible flame on our finger. She's our Miss Smartypants.
---

FUN. It didn't matter that it was a "kids" party, guests of all ages came and had a blast. They also enjoyed the food we ordered for them.
---
Surprise. We really didn't expect Jollibee and Hetty had a parting gift for Iaine: this Jollibee bench. Iaine uses it at home and she absolutely loves it!
---
TLDR; She looked so adorable in her birthday outfits and she was so happy--screaming, jumping, playing all over the place. Our guests, especially the kids, also had a blast cos the program went so smoothly, the games were exciting, and the two mascots stayed for quite a long time, unlike in other Jollibee branches where they take off after only a short photo opportunity.

The next day was Iaine's real birthday, and she, my h and I celebrated in our own quiet little way by spending the day out of town. Nevertheless, having the party at Jollibee the day before was such a great idea. My daughter loved every minute of it, and better yet, it was like she had two birthdays in a year. She's 2 now and still growing, and I'm already excited about February 6, 2013!
